one of my friends tried to explain the meaning of hella and the whole division between northern and southern california to this french guy the other day. I don't think he really got it.

At least you're not in Paris where if your French is not perfect, you're dead. Your French will be amazing in another week though. Just wait until Spring hits, it will be amazing down there. As for French TV, there is nothing greater than their version of the Weakest Link where pretty much just everyone, boys and girls, try to show as much of their chest as possible in the most absurd and stereotypically European way possible. Take every opportunity you have to travel though, which includes coming up here to England!

Hey Marnie! Now that you're in Europe, if you ever feel like making a trip over to the UK you're always welcome to stay with me in Edinburgh. Make the most of travelling while you're abroad because it's so much cheaper than in the states. Hope you're enjoying France, it sounds wonderful. Hopefully you know a little more french by now than what Monseiur Monnier taught you!

lucy! I am coming to England! I'll be there the weekend after next, the 22nd to the 25th with my friend Chanel. I know we're staying in London the first night, but afterward is up in the air. if we make it to Edinburgh can we stay with you for a night or two?

Hey sorry to get back to you so late, but I'm going home tomorrow so I won't be around! I'm sorry! But definitely come to Edinburgh if you get the chance, it is one of the most amazing cities, and so beautiful. You can find some fairly cheap hostels. Hope you have a good time!
