Y'know, it's funny; I got practically as many votes for taking a bye in Week 2 as I received for my vote-eligible entry in Week 1. Not sure how to read that one.

Of course, as I made clear last week in the course of my Final Warning, I'll be officially taking a bye again this week, whilst simultaneously actually taking on Week 3's fabulous

After I posted last week, I recognized in the course of reading some other entries that the prompt was actually a reference to some recognized concept, and I hadn't known that. So the first thing I did with this week's prompt was to Google it to see if it too was a reference to something I wasn't aware of. I honestly would not have known either; I did not grow up playing video games.

So there are at least two of us.

Hey, why not, I'll try it your way with the byes next week. I seem to have gotten attention with the way I announced the bye from at least one reader. Personally, I don't ever read / begin reading entries from the posting thread anyway, but I also kinda wanted to be close as possible to the top of page 1 for all of the masochists that do.

Thanks for letting me know someone else is laughing. I mean, in one sense and as clearly / previously outlined, I don't give a fuck, but in another it honestly is kind of nice and I appreciate you taking the time. I also have other early if not necessarily statistically significant evidence that what I'm doing increases not only exposure but votes for the "target entry" that week. I'm curious to see if that continues.

Looking back I probably could have done a more artful job with the name-morphing (which really WAS inspired by the Mallory-Malroy dichotomy inherent in seakitty's Week 0), but oh well. At least I managed to hamfist my way to Kilroy. Because, y'know, he was here.
