lets go to seattle.

we’ll drive through the night,
kissing every time we cross a state line,
listening to oldies and singing along.
i know all the words.
we both do.

we’ll pretend that we don’t know where we’re going,
stopping to stretch our legs
& spin circles in the air
at rest stops in the middle of nowhere.

i’ll make up stories about places that don’t exist
& people that do.

& you’ll teach me another language
as the car slips through the dark.
