I just decided that one's vocabulary doesn't help one too much. Example: I have a large vocabulary, and I use it regularly. However, this is not such a good thing, because many don't have the vocabulary I have, so it gets me nowhere, creating a social rift. I either need to be hanging out with smarter people, or stop using what I know

true but when you hear others using larger words that many people in our grade won't even be able to understand you will be to understand them

dont stop using smart words, thats just stupid..but use them to the right people.

i think you use to big of words when they are not neccicary, you were even talking to me about it one day when some girl worked way to much on a project and some kid did the bare minimum and they got the same grade. also jim told me that his teacher made them gallope around the school and shit and then he siad that that could use a very dicriptive word vs just waling and using some outragiusly lagre word to describ it

Let me reiterate what Greg said. Walking is walking. Galloping is galloping. Don't use one word for the other.

Dont change your vocabulary for others just beacause they dont understand certian words. I run into that problem around certian people as well. Just explain to them what the word means so then they will know that word and hopefully remember it. I'm sure it can get frusterating doing that but it is less of a waste of time to use your natural vocublary than to think of how you will rephrase your sentence.

you do use your vocabulary to the extreme. but when you say it, people will ask what it means, and then they will learn it. so i think by you using the "uncommon" words, helps the other people expand their own vocabularies.. kinda like reading. lol i guess?

yeah i have a normal vocabulary, and i find when we are somewhere and we have a group discusion like we usually do, i am asking you what the words you say are. and if you started hanging out with people with the vocabulary you have, you would become a loser

you can use big words around me all you want becasue i dont listen to what you say anyways.....someone may call me dumb for not listening to you because its like free education becasue you are so smart, i will in return say i am dumb for not listening to things i dont find important in living my life to the EXTREME
