Totally Screwed on my Taxes

So I hate taxes. I always seem to end up owing the state half of what I get back in Federal. Not this year....this year I owe DOUBLE what I'm getting back Federally. Honestly, how can I go from getting over $800 last year to only $120 and owing the state $257?

Though I have yet to get anything back from the state in almost a month. Argh. They owe me about $164. Fuckers.
