I'm So Wonderful

“Oh the sweetness of a life, taken so quickly, returning from whence it came. From dust to dust like fruit plucked from the tree of life and left to rot, to die upon this earth. Oh short life of mine grows shorter by the hour and I, like ice, will freeze and fall and shatter. A penny for your thoughts sweet fellow passenger to the grave ( Read more... )

I put way too much time into this greenfroggy888 November 22 2005, 01:27:46 UTC
Dear companion in life,
Whose death draws so near,
Close enough to pluck it from yonder flower,
And smell its wiltering perfume
Of forgotton memories and days of the past,
How old have we grown that we may not enjoy
The sweetness that life has left?
The flower is still in bloom,
Overflowing with luscious color and nector,
Bitter to the taste yet sweet to the smell.
Fear not for there is time.
Time for days to tumble by,
With no destination or hour to restrict.
Time for dust to swirl round,
Encompassing you with the hope
That tomorrow is another day...oh so far away.

I know of what you speak, but dare not say
For I know you fear your ending eternity
But talk not of your final years
The sweet bitterness of life will someday end
But the sweet nectar is all that matters
When the black fog finally nears

The swirling sand passing through the hourglass
Speaks nothing of our lives
Except to say when our time is up
Look through the glass, past the dust and dirt
And see your future beyond what is known
Drink deeply from your life, from your cup

Leave your worries behind as you continue
Travel, wander, fly down the road
That can take you far into your life
Leave them behind next to your childhood
Next to your adolescence, and travel on
On and on, past all the worries and strife

And worry not, because you have companions,
Your friends have also forgotten their problems
And are travelling down the same highway
Perhaps at different times
Perhaps at different paces
But we're goin to the same place, neither night nor day
