HERMIONE'S GRAVEYARD MITTS

Materials
Double Pointed Needles (dpn) or circular needles 1 SIZE SMALLER THAN YARN GAUGE (This keeps the pattern tight)
Markers
Stitch holder (I just used a cable needle...the divot was perfect)

Scrap Yarn in the following colors:

Red
Cream
Blue
Purple
Orange
Yellow
Lilac
Pink
Green

PLEASE NOTE: The color to be worked in for each row is the color the directions are in using the key above and written in for help!

Before you begin please read:

This piece is made inside out. Therefore, when you make your colour changes, please make sure you tie your pieces on the outside...which will become the inside.

Work in colour pattern, casting off using the repeat of row 25 (the cream row after the pink band).

Move thumb sts off holder and onto dpns. Knit around in colour pattern, binding off thumb on cream row after orange band.

I found that I had to retie some of my colour changes once I was finished because they were loose, causing a hole up the "seam." It shouldn't be hard if you tie your colour changes in square knots. Being in two different colours, they will be easy to take apart and retie.

Turn final product inside out. This gives us the "machine knit"  look without all the hassle of constant (even more constant) colour change.

This pattern was a modification of a mitt pattern I  found so many years ago, it doesn't appear to be on the internet anymore so I can't even give credit to the original source material...
