baby_werewolf CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Fujimura Taiga, Fate/Stay Night
In-Game Name: Taiga Fujimura
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Position & Ship: Winding Way, Seaman
Appearance:
A young woman of pretty average appearance, Taiga is more noticeable for her loud behaviour (her body language is…very obvious. She smiles a lot, but when she’s angry, you will know about it) than for her looks. Her eyes are golden brown, a shade darker than her light brown hair, which she wears cropped short and easy to care for. She doesn’t particularly care for accessories and adornments, although she does wear a pair of plain stud earrings most of the time. There isn’t much variety to be found in her wardrobe, either: once she finds a look she likes, that’s what she sticks with.
She’s just on the tall side of average, and skinnier than you’d expect for the amount she eats when given the chance - although it’s not entirely surprising, when you consider that she does tend to get herself a lot of exercise. As a result, her body is fairly well toned, and she has the metabolism to cope with eating a lot.
Personality:
Taiga is affectionate towards the people she likes - and whether she likes someone or not can be a split-second decision. That doesn’t stop her hitting them if they do something she doesn’t like, though, and the wrath of Taiga is a force to be reckoned with. It’s generally a good idea to stay on her good side, not that that’s usually too hard to do. Ply her with food and drink, and you’ll probably be fine. In any case, she hits because she cares: if she’s in a mood with you, it’s probably because you’ve done something she thinks is stupid and will get you hurt.
That, or you used her nickname. Calling Taiga Tiger is inviting trouble, despite it being such an obvious name: not only is it little more than a spelling change, she also loves tigers and owns a variety of tiger-themed possessions, from the strap on her shinai to her favourite mug to several cuddly toys.
Taiga never seems to act her age - she’s very childish, and despite being an adult and having been a teacher, she’s not an effective authority figure. She might consider herself to be looking after the children, but chances are the children are looking after her. Her idea of supervising, after all, often largely involves turning up at mealtimes looking expectant.
She has a strong mischievous side, more in what she says than in what she does - she can keep important secrets if she wants to, but trusting her with your embarrassing personal secrets is a bad idea: she’ll quite happily spill the beans to get a rise out of you. And she’s an incorrigible meddler in people’s personal and romantic lives.
Abilities/Weapons:
She is a very accomplished kendo practitioner, and her skill with the shinai, while formidable in itself, transfers to a real sword as well - though it’s fortunate for everyone around her that it’s only a shinai she carries on a regular basis.
She’s also a fairly competent archer.
If she’s given work to do, she will complete it, even if it’s not without some whining.
How well can your character hack?:
She can’t, unless it’s something laughably easy. Hacking is boring, and there are much better things she could be doing. On the other hand, juicy gossip is good, so the stuff that’s easy enough for her to get into, she will be all over if she’s bored.
Weaknesses:
Incredibly clumsy, unpunctual, anger management issues, completely incapable of taking care of herself…the list goes on and on.
Taiga can’t cook. She can’t manage money - in her mid-twenties, she still gets weekly pocket money. Her time management skills are non-existent. She’s generally very needy and dependent on other people to help her out, but also very volatile and easily angered if things don’t go her way.
When she’s not fighting, she’s often very clumsy and helpless.
Furthermore, calling her “Tiger” - or even insinuating she might be a tiger - will send her into a blind rage, where she might do…well, anything.
History:
Taiga’s upbringing in Trewe was a relatively easy one, probably the cause of her continuing childish outlook - she’s never had it knocked out of her, having been a mildly spoiled child. Her family never lacked for money, albeit not always from legitimate sources: not that Taiga herself has ever had anything to do with the shadier side of her family’s business dealings. As far as she’s concerned, money is money and it’s nice to have. Where it comes from has never mattered much to her.
Growing up, she was a fairly average student academically speaking, though her athletic talents quickly became clear. Her swordsmanship was well trained from a young age, although her somewhat sheltered and well-to-do lifestyle meant that she rarely tested her skills outside the dojo. In formal competitions, though, she did very well, losing out on a prize at the championships in her final year of school not through any fault in her skills, but because she was disqualified for violating the dress code.
After graduating, Taiga trained as a teacher, coming back to teach at the school she attended herself as a teenager. She carried on living with her parents and grandfather in the family home, as she had done all her life.
However, for the last five years or six years, she's been looking after Shirou Emiya, the adopted son of a deceased friend of her family, Kiritsugu Emiya. For a given value of ‘looking after’, since even as a young boy, Shirou was more self-sufficient than Taiga, and did all the cooking and cleaning around the house he lived in - Taiga dropping in a few times every day to keep an eye on him and eat his food. In fact, she’d got so used to living like this that once Shirou left school and moved away, it shook up Taiga’s life enough to make her actually think about doing something different with her own life.
The fact that she could just decide one day to hand in her notice at the school she worked in and set off to see the world would seem ridiculous if it were anyone but Taiga. Actually, no, it still seems ridiculous. But you have to learn to expect the unexpected when dealing with her.
Fortunately, from what she’s heard of the Winding Way, it has a crew of what she thought could well turn out to be kindred spirits, hence her hopes of signing onto its crew.
