[Liquid happened to be taking refuge in the same Pokemon Center, and had dealt with a similar problem when he arrived.]

Had the misfortune of being caught in the storm, Doctor Stein? You seem a bit... waterlogged.

[He has a well-developed sense of schadenfreude, and feels glad that he's not you.]

A bit. It's gotten quite a lot worse out there. Looks like there might even be a bit of a flood...

[He's currently in the process of shaking some of the water out of his hair] But this is your element anyway, isn't it Liquid?

I'm more used to the desert by now than to rain.

[Though this did bear some resemblance to his native country-- England and rain tended to go hand-in-hand.]

I live in Nevada. I can barely remember the last time I got rained on.

[He smiles a bit and moves on to wringing out his labcoat] At least we were here instead of on a trail. It's probably miserable out there for those morons who didn't stay put when they had the chance.

Doc? Don't complain. All I got in by bag were latex swim-shorts.

At least those will pretty much keep their shape when wet. After all these years, I can't believe I finally let this happen...

... Uh, I really don't want to talk about my outfit anymore, doc.

So you're in Violet? That's the city after Cherrygrove?

I'll pretend I didn't hear a thing, then.

Absolutely right. Where are you? Stuck in Cherrygrove?

What, can't find a dryer?

The one I could find is full. And I don't want to shrink it too much, just enough so it fits me again.

You run the risk of burning it to ashes if you use one of those fire-breathing things.

I was planning on standing far away so just the heat hits it rather than the flames itself. And if I do, I'll just find some fabric and make myself a new one, I guess.

I wouldn't dream of such a thing. Though I'll admit, you were the person I was thinking of when I asked.

Maybe we should consider this retribution for you temporarily breaking my Magnemite.

I was? Now I don't know whether to be flattered or slightly disturbed.

Hey, that was entirely your doing. It's not my fault Steel types are weak against fire.

Your little fire fox is the only fire-breathing doggy I've met so far.

I would've appreciated a warning saying that before your little two-hit K.O.
