Over here in Sweden, Doctor Who is practically non-existant. But when I went to Manchester, England, in April for a school trip, we lived in host families, and I (and most of my classmates discovered with me) were suprised to discover that Doctor Who was such a HUGE thing. I had heard that it was popular, but I figured it was like a kids' show for ages 6-11 or something (as I told you, in Sweden, we know nothing about it). And in the family I came to, they spoke about that show ALL the time - the parents too - they had fridge magnets with Doctor Who motives, the kids had decorated their rooms with Doctor Who posters, and when it was time for Doctor Who on the telly, they all called for me to come watch with them, "to experience British culture". Not that I minded, it was fun. :) All that I remember of the program was that there was some sort of space ship that looked like it was taken out of Star Wars and that they blew up a car, but still. :)
