Liquid Gold

Mmm... wine. After a very long work week, Friday night has never felt so glorious. I took full advantage of having the house to myself (which is a sadly uncommon occurence when living with 3 other people) to take a long bath with bubbles, a good book, and a lovely glass of Virginia viognier. The only way it could have been more decadent would be ( Read more... )

Clearly I am taking a netflix break to LJ creep.

Your night sounds lovely! I've got cheap Australian SB and my house to myself (but then I live alone, so less exciting). What I need is my old Dieux de Stade dvd.

I wonder if Morriganfearn has read those---she is a big fan of the Scarlet Pimpernel. Is there any death or mayhem? Darkness? That would be extra bonus.

Did your viognier taste floral or full of minerality?

Big Brother is offended that you called his romance corny. He is the suavest, smoothest operator ever. In fact that Sade song--written for him ;)

There is some death but very little darkness... these are rather light, fluffy books with lots of romance!

My wine was quite floral! I think I would have preferred something crisper and more mineral to cool myself off in the bath, but eh... it was still good, especially after a week of not drinking. ;)

I'll make it up to Big Brother; I have some sexcapade icons on offer! I think I need to download some new fonts because none of these are quite hitting the sweet spot for me, but feel free to grab any of these! I'll probably work on more icons this weekend since I'm rather rusty.

I just tried a glass of this red blend I've had open for two days and poured it down the drain :P And back to white....

A week of not drinking. Hrm. I should look into that sometimes. But the wine it calls to me and says, "Oh, Sly, please have a glass of me tonight."

I adore the middle one. Francis, why so adorable, I mean why such a sexcapade?

Soft Sell, going back to the beginning ;) The origins of promises and unmet tulip demands.

Sorry for being an lj creeper, but asdfghjkl; what is this series about Revolutionary France, Scarlet Pimpernel and spies?! Rather, if that's the title of the fourth in the series, what's the first?

Welcome to my journal, felow spies- and FraNeth-lover! :D Definitely check out the books, they're really enjoyable. The first one in the series is The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, and they're by Lauren Willig.

"Meanwhile, the Black Tulip, France's deadliest spy, is in England with instructions to track down and kill the Pink Carnation." - I know that this is not what it looks like (totes FraNeth shipping. Black tulips meaning 'burned by love' and just darkly wonderful for the pairing) but I'm going there anyway. Wow. I have to find this series at a local library.

Wow, black tulips really does fit the FraNeth pairing well. Now when I reread that book, I'm going to have visions of France and Netherlands dancing in my head (like it wasn't bad enough already when working with country names for my job. :D )
