How many people is "everyone"?

Anyone who wants some! I'd have to make a lot, but it's really worth it if people are happy.

Hm...Well, Johnny has never been able to turn down something made by the hand of a beautiful woman, but I'm afraid even that day must come. There are others who need my share far more than I do. I'd rather those with real sweet tooths have them. Perhaps it'll take their minds partially off recent events.

A-ah, well... I can't exactly make any chocolate this year. I'm kind of, um... In the hospital.

But don't worry, next year I'll give some to you and I'll have enough for everyone else!

I, too, would very much like to make sweets for others as well.

... But I have not heard of this "Valentine's Day" before...?

Oh, you don't have it in your world? It's a holiday where people express love for each other and give chocolates to those they care about!

Where I live, it's usually the girls who give chocolate out today, but I've heard of a lot of other traditions!

Ah, but isn't love something you should express everyday for those that are important to you? Unless Valentine's Day is meant to just express it more than usual....

What other sort of traditions exist? [Now you've got him curious!]

Sometimes people need a little push to express it, though. That's how the Japanese tradition started, they thought girls were too shy to show their love on other days, so they used Valentine's Day to help them out!

Well... In Western tradition it's not just girls that give gifts, anyone can give it to anyone! And... There's also a few places that celebrate more of a friendship approach, so you don't just focus on your special someone.

What's romantic about a consumer driven Holiday?

That it gives people a chance to express their love! Sometimes people need an extra push, like a holiday to get them to show it.

If someone isn't going to show how they feel every other day of the week then clearly they don't care enough. A person should never reserve their feelings for one day.

But to a lot of people, today means more than any other day. Showing someone your love today expresses more love than any random day! It shows you cared enough to wait and plan it out just for this romantic day.
