Character History:
Ahiru didn’t begin her life as one would usually suspect-she was born a duck. Though, everything changed the day she saw a prince (Mytho) at her lake, dancing on the water. From just looking at him, she could see that he was sad and lonely; something she wanted to remedy any way she could. However, she was only a duck; how could a mere duck bring a smile to the prince’s face? Drosselmeyer, a writer whose stories become reality, decided to give her that wish, and turned her into a girl. From there, her name became Ahiru and her goal quickly became that passing thought she had while watching the prince-to help him smile anyway she could.
It wasn’t long before she enrolled at the school that the prince attended and began to take ballet classes. There she made friends with two other girls, Pike and Lilie. They are her closest friends, and help the helpless duck get through classes (since she tends to be late all the time). But, even they don't know her secret of being a duck, even though she can easily give it away at any moment.
Ahiru changes back into a duck every time she quacks (which tends to happen whenever she is frightened or surprised). To reverse the process and turn back into a girl, she has to find water and come into contact with it.
This handicap is not enough to sway Ahiru from trying her hardest to achieve her goal and down the line she eventually learns that in order to get the prince to smile again, she needs to return the shards of his heart. From one of Drosselmeyer’s stories, the prince and raven were trapped in an eternal battle because Drosselmeyer died and was unable to finish the story; giving the raven the chance to escape from the story to the real world. The prince pursued the raven to try to seal him away again and in order to do so, the prince had to shatter his own heart with his sword.
With the help of the necklace Ahiru wears, she can transform into Princess Tutu; which helps her find heart shards. The egg shaped necklace glows red when a heart shard is near-the heart shards reside in people who feel strong emotion, and thus the heart shard enhances these emotions. Princess Tutu uses her talent of dancing to express the feelings that her enemies are trying to decipher and find themselves. She usually uses this to retrieve a heart shard from the person it inhabits.
Ahiru as Princess Tutu works on finding the shards, but faces a challenge when it comes to Fakir, Mytho's best friend, and a raven called Kraehe. Both seem highly interested in keeping the prince from getting his heart shards back. here.
Abilites/Special Powers:
