I offer you a method to motivation.

It is tough for me to offer this but you are a good friend so i will make an exception. I am willing to allow you access to come and shovel my driveway. It is my snow and my shovel but I am a giving and kind soul. You will gain motivation from the satisfaction of a job well done. You will eventually shed your unwanted extra weight. This offer I bestow only upon you, my dearest friend.

p.s. wear your speedo and I will even let you shovel my steps.

I went out this evening when it was 30 degrees and walked 3/4 of a mile to the fire station, then 3/4 of a mile back. Fresh air, good exercise, podcasts on the iPod shuffle .......

It totally wasn't worth it.

You know as well as I do that you don't have to go outside to "shed a ton of fat and such". You're making excuses, dude...I would know...I'm very good at it! Pick up something heavy and curl it or pick up something heavier and lift it over your head. You can do indoor exercises like squats, pushups, situps, lunges, etc. See how many of [insert exercise here] you can do in 5 minutes. Or see how many times you can lift [insert really heavy object] until your muscles are too tired to lift it again. Do it again in a week, two weeks, a month...and see how you've improved. Make it a competition against yourself...or get someone else involved and see who can do more ( ... )

And how do these suggestions help me get my driveway shoveled?

So un-helpful!

:o) well...if he decides to brave the cold, i guess "[insert exercise here]" could be shoveling snow, right? He could time himself to see how long it takes him to shovel your driveway...and then again the next time it snows...and then again next winter...and the winter after that...and so on...to see how he improves over time.

There you go. He gets is workout in and you get driveway shoveling services for a lifetime. It still works.
