I am very sorry to hear such unfortunate news, Meghan. :( I do have a question, though. If the Philadelphia chromosome kept the chemo from working, then why did the doctors and your uncle continue with the rounds of chemo? I don't understand why they would use a treatment that not only did not help, but actually made things worse.

well what happened was the chromosome made the body more resistant to the therapies than a normal person. and unfortunately thats the best treatment for it. it was ultimately the chemo though that put him in that state. he went into kidney failure at first from resistance to the chemo assistance drugs.

I have been lost to the world and just check LJ for the first time in like two weeks. I am really sorry to hear about your loss. I know that you are in Orlando, and I am oober-late, but if you need anything (that I can help with) let me know and I will do any thing and everything that I can.

thanks I appreciate it. i think i was starting to do alright, but the the funerals not until this weekend so it's going to bring it all back up again
