A demon was going to feed off an angel.

Now Vash didn't really consider himself a literal angel--it was only what people commonly called his species--but part of him was wondering if the girl he'd talk to on the network hadn't meant that she was a literal demon. Shia walked into the new world as if walking around an invisible corner and stared. Sand as far as the eye could see. It was amazing, in a bleak kind of way, but Shia was still focused on the heavy, lead feeling low in her stomach. She was going to willingly feed. It wasn't as if she had a choice-- well, she could, but she honestly wasn't prepared to die yet. She had a mission to finish first.

She scanned and finally spotted the man from the community. Smiling weakly, she stepped towards him. "Hello."

Vash instantly gave her as dazzling a smile as he could, quickly bending over to replace his slightly less sand-filled boot. She didn't look good and Vash knew she'd probably need to feed in a few moments and would probably prefer someplace private.

"Hello!" he told her and held out his right hand to her, "I'm Val. Did you have any trouble getting here?"

"No," Shia said, "Thank you." She figured how tired she looked and sounded said otherwise, but she may as well put forth a good face. She took his hand lightly, smiling. "My name is Shia."

"Nice to see you. Do you want to sit down for a bit before you eat?" he asked.

Saying that made his stomach tighten for a moment, old memories of finding out they were genetically similar to plants and being frightened when Steve teased them about becoming "part of his salad" surfacing. He pushed it back. This was different. This was a young girl who needed some help. That was all. Just calling it "eating" and making it sound like it didn't matter too much was the only way he could think of to make her more comfortable with the situation.

"So... ahaha! How does that work anyway?" he said, making a goofy face as he scratched the back of his head.
