Pokémon Diamond and Pearl just came out on the 22nd (although due to my fairly late pre-ordering i seem to have been left off the call list). I couldn't pick it up until Tuesday because i lost track of the date (thanks for the reminder Al). But now i have it, And it is very good so far. I'm only about 6 hours in so far due to stupid work... however ( Read more... )

I'm actually kinda interested in the DS Poke'mon games and I am actually VERY interested in the Wii Poke'mon game coming out in a month or two (June I thought, but maybe July.) I was at Fred Meyer today and saw Perl, but not Diamond. Is there a huge difference between the two?

The only real difference will be about a dozen pokémon that will appear in the wild diamond will have one set and pearl the other. Moreover as i have diamond you having pearl would make getting those different ones easier.

I can see where that would happen. I've never used a system like I do with my DS.

I got Pearl...and that fire monkey (I named mine StinkyNutz!) IS pretty damn cool. Seems pretty versatile against a good variety of Poke'mon.

Well as you were able to get the first badge i assume you leveled him sufficiently to evolve? pokémon games have a bad habit of making the first gym Really hard for you if you chose fire.

I have never played the card game is it any good...the ds version seems to have voice chat prior to playing over wifi or something... the pokemon games seem to be unreasonably priced in my area right now... anything over 30 bucks pretty much blows...seems they are price gouging.. its been a while since i have bought a new ds game...the last ones were...new super mario and club house games.

looks like there is a VS game coming out as well.. hmmm... last i heard there were some pretty big paydays for players at major game conventions
