Need computer help : My Operating System Hard Drive broke.

Here's what I'm using now.

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Here's what broke.

SO looks like I can use SATA. I built the computer but I sorta forgot the specifications and such. eg. What can or can't work with what.

I presume SATA and 1.5GB/second as criteria would give me an acceptable hard drive?
