Um, I'm sorry but they don't. The Purple Heart is for being injured in combat. To award it for those that were hurt or killed by that maniac is to cheapen it's meaning for the others that have earned it.

actually if you go look it up, a law was passed authorizing the award of the purple heart to military victims of an act of terrorism like the victims of the USS Cole bombing.
