anyone wanna help me out with something???

ok so i wanna start doing photography as a hobby, i dont have much in the way of a digital camera, but what i have should be good enough to learn on. i currently have a canon powershot SD1000, but i know very little about things like ISO and f-stops or what auto settings to use when etc ( Read more... )

Simplest answer.

Take photos of everything.

I started out that way back around 1985. I learned everything else along the way. Back then, it was all film based so I didn't take many photos due to processing costs. Now, with everything digital, you can shoot your brains out and not worry about the 5 billion crap photos.

Best advice?

Don't just stand there and take a photo. Look for a different angle. Get up close to something and use it in the foreground while taking a photo of something in the distance. Make your photos interesting. Anyone can just stand somewhere and take a level, centered shot.
