SPARK!!!!!!!! NO!

Oh god, Catherine......I'm overwhelmed to read this.

It's so hard to pick out memories from what, SIX years of cohabiting with you and my favorite fluffy, stoner, cross-eyed kitty? But here's my first memory dump...

Sitting in our hall with his plaintive MIAOOW, eyes completely crossed. Mitch pointing and laughing at him. (And YOU yelling, "Stop making fun of mah CAT!!")

Him bolting his delicious kitty food, then barfing on my floor (once on my INS paperwork, hahah).

God, that beautiful, fluffy face. He was always the prettiest cat EVER. Oh Spark-butt :(

thank you.
I knew there would be a barfing story, and I welcome those, too :)

Of course. I always thought it was part of Spark's CHARM. I loved him. I never minded :(

I know, and I loved that you loved him so much and gave him attention, and were patient with his antics... but how could one not, he was so cute...

And Cat, I am SO SO SORRY for your loss...I *know* how utterly devoted and lovingly attached you were and are to your fur-children. My deepest condolences to you. Poor lady :(

we're hanging in there. Good thing we have each other. And roomie's been really sweet too. I am focusing on the good memories, that's why I asked for more here :) the words of my friends about him are the best help.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about Spark! The best thing is that it seemed that he went pretty fast.

Spark was the nicest, cross-eyed kitty I knew. And he was a good little houseguest too. He ate, hid under the bed, didn't run outside and hide in the woods, causing his mommy big grief when she came back from Burning Man (unlike SOME kitty I could mention (Bumper!!)).

Hope this helps. If there's ANYTHING I can do, please let me know!!

yea... he went fast and that's better... I was just hoping it would never happen you know?

I would still let him out in my backyard every day and he would never try to escape (Bumper the Ninja kitty only goes out on a leash!)

the weirdest thing is, last night I dreamed that Spark was escaping from my backyard, haha. Sadly, to cross the rainbow bridge.

yes, this does help. What better tribute for him than the words of my beloved friends! thank you so much.

And you know, 17 years is a good respectable age for a kitty of his size. He had a good life with you, and that is a very very nice thing. He was a lucky kitty.

yes, I am aware of that, and grateful for it. I am really trying to focus on all the positive things.

And I have thoughts for you and Chowder, too. How is he? Make sure you spend some quality time with him every day, knowing that you did will make a difference. I am glad I did.

When I was housesitting/catsitting at your place, I was dead asleep when I woke up to find him curled up at my chest. You know I'm a dog person, but what could I do? I just let him lay there and he looked up at me, meowed as if to say "of course I'm laying here!" and went back to sleep.
He was a cool little mellow guy, and again I'm sorry you had to go through this, but you gave him a very nice and long cat life.

aw thank you. For a dog person, you are an awesome cat sitter :)
He loved human company. He would always sleep curled up against me, or on my pillow, like the last night he was with me.

that's funny.. he would rarely sleep on my chest, maybe because I sleep on the side, or I'm too skinny and there's just not enough room...
tho he would sleep on a layer of blanket, wedged between me and the back of the couch when I would take a nap downstairs.
