The Worst Fanfiction Cliche of All Time

The Worst Fanfiction Cliche of All Time is... "true feelings"

Because actions, words, history, everything, EVERYTHING can be erased when a fanfic writer says that these are not the character's "true feelings"

Wouldn't this mean that this is not the character? Bah, who needed characterization or consistency anyways?

OH GOD I HATE THAT.

I saw a fanfic that was basically the fanfic author's own version of an actual chapter, except they changed it to where Haru didn't actually love Rin and zomg! His actually loved Yuki! Oi.

Wow. That fanfic writer scares me. Lots.

That's a pretty bad one, though I find it tied with merely suddenly switching the characters emotions in the first couple paragraphs in fic (as opposed to using those paragraphs to claim they were previously different). But at least those two make some nod towards the character being different, sometimes they just act differently with no explanation offered or reference to ever being different. That's worst of all.
