Your art was not accepted for this exhibit, yet the time you spent preparing is well acknowledged

Formal excellence is an obvious condition for the art to occur. However, form devoid of content is not quite yet art, but merely a decorative object. The form must inevitably support the content. I had a quote at the begining of my artist statement that was written on the inside of the box.. and she wrote:

"What does this have to do with this at all?"

And I was like.. well if you took the time to open the box and actually look at it you would have seen it.. durrrf.

I do think it's funny how someone submitted This as their painting, and she wrote: "This is not art."
