Today I discovered, or perhaps created, a most excellant word: SMATTER. Isn't that great? Here I'll show you how to use it, too

Geoff, you didn't invent the word smatter, it's been around for ages.
My favorite use of the word is
"a smattering of applause". It's so descriptive without being pretentious. I love that use so much I've told people about it. I think I told someone during voices from the shore.
