Obamanos?

Last night was the 'historical' speech by Barack - with the media hyping the fact that it was the 45th annivesary of MLK's "I have a dream" speech, I thought Barack was slightly dry. Hillary's speech earlier this week was AMAZING in comparison, though as L.Duke points out hers was much much shorter. I think he did hook a good deal of people with ( Read more... )

I only caught the tail end of Obama's speech and will have to check out the rest of his & Hillary's on the good old YouTubes, but I did enjoy what I heard last night. Now I'm extra curious to hear Hillary's if you liked it.

Do you guys have any thoughts on the announcement of McCain's pick for VP- Sarah Palin? I just saw it on the Washington Post and will have to do some major reading to see what her deal is. I can't help but feel that it's a "we can make history too" tactic on behalf of the Repubs. Not that there's anything that would make me not vote for Obama, at this point he could kill a bunny on national television and I would still happily check the box for him.

holy crap. i am scared. I just watched her speak and she's eloquent damn it.
i hope republicans find some good reason to hate/bash her, like lack of experience.

not to bash a fellow woman or anything, but she is frickin sending her teenage son to IRAQ and wants McCain to be preseident when McCain has said he'll stay there 100 years if that's what it takes??? I think McCain picked her for three strategic reasons - go after the vote of women, appeal to the evangelicals with her pro-life devout christian stance, and she's outside washington politics as usual and can appeal to common people.

I just stumbled on this entry whilst wandering around online and am struck (with the benefit of distant hindsight) by both the lack of progress on Obama's stated goals and the irony of your fearing Sarah Palin's eloquence.
