My first time hearing 'TheArmed Man'. It was cool. I have nowhere near enough musical knowledge to say what was so good about it and what wasn't, don't know which movement was which - but it all sounded cool. I'm guessing the conveyance of horror was the screaming bit :)
I agree that the orchestra were dead good.
My heart went out to those who either had to walk off stage - or had to be escorted off after fainting. It's a shame they had to miss their show coz no one has worked out how to turn down the heating.
Apart from the heat, I did like DeMontfort Hall. Damn good sound andmade me a little nostalgic for the NCH - or maybe the habit of visiting the NCH occasionally that I once had...

It really was fantastic. Is it me, or are the acoustics of the hall absolutely phenomenal? I've really not been to many halls where I could hear pretty much every instrument so clearly.

Oh - and the singing was great, too. The first half was good, but the Armed Man was breathtaking. So, that CD, then...

I do quite like the old armed man, but lately I've been really getting into his Requiem, it's a bit brilliant.

Love the mad sax bit in grey!
