For flowers, we've planted a variety of annuals (our perennials from last year actually came back!) mainly to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. In our small little pathetic "garden" out behind the fence we planted tomato plants, green pepper plant, zucchini seeds and corn seeds. We'll see what makes it! The boys (especially David) enjoy watering everything, and Andrew likes checking for bugs on the plants.
We are looking forward to your visit very much! You should see the pallet o' fireworks that were bought for the fourth! Truly amazing! It seems as if we're going to have a street party and cookout that night. Kevin printed up brochures to placed on everyone's doors soon. It should be a good time.
We've got a caterpillar obsession here. In our yard but also when camping last weekend. Our campsite had a lot of those caterpillars that dangle from tree branches on a thread of silk. Daniel would cut their strings and then hold the caterpillar for a while before taking it to a new tree. At least he wasn't squishing them.
We've had a few water fights and water balloon tosses here. Love summer! My flower garden looks so beautiful and I've got a lot of butterfly-attracting plants also.
