Tibet

Not well enough to write a real post but in case anyone has not yet seen the news I wanted to mention what's going on in Tibet and ask that everyone who prays, please pray for the people there. It is a very sad and bad situation-like all instances of colonization-for both the indigenous people of the region and the colonists, who as far as I know ( Read more... )

Exactly! But thats my point-how do we stop the powerful from foisting the poor from overextended areas into others areas? And of course-in areas where the colonizing is hundreds of years old its hard, or impossible, to "put the genie back in the bottle ( ... )

Hey, it's good to see you back. This is a great post, through which I feel your energy and it has transferred to me. So you are not restricted to just praying. Then pen, etc.

My journal is now smashboredom but I had to log in to this old one to post comments. :P

I have high hopes for permaculture and getting more people to use permaculture design to drop dependence on the globalized nonsense structures;-)

I am praying that as bad as it is, that this uprising does end up stimulating a more productive dialogue between the Chinese govt and the Tibetan people-much like what AIM accomplished in the 1970's by forcing the issues into the public conciousness(not that it resolved things satisfactorily but at least ndn women in my generation aren't being forcibly sterilized when they go in hospital to give birth, or have a checkup!) I am praying that the same sort of progress can be made there. I wish governments didnt have to be so awful!

i haven't commented in a long time. i read often, and just don't know what to say.. my husband mentioned this to me tonight. my response was, "Again!? or is it STILL?.. :("..
I won't pretend to know a whole lot about this, but I'm not hearing much of anything good about the Chinese government right about now. A country's government is (sadly) not made up of it's people, though, and I will never have anything against the people who live in china, but everything going on lately is really sad. It feels like, right about now, everything is going all bad, for everyone I know. I'm sure this isn't the case though, and I'm just being pessimistic about it, so I'm up reading Mother Earth News and cleaning my kitchen at 3am to keep my mind on improvement, not the constant state of everything.

I hope you're doing well. You're strong, and I find you admirable <3

(i feel so corny putting hearts like that but I'm pretty bad with words :D

Sorry to take such an age to reply, havent been on much for a while. Thank you! It is nutty what governments do but i really think we can circumvent them in a lot of ways, til they collapse from their own insupportable weight ( ... )
