Caelen's Appointment

Well, we got back from Virginia Beach just in time to put Caelen to bed tonight. The appointment went well, albeit in a brief manner. We drove up Monday night and stayed in a hotel in Portsmouth; we went off of the recommendation of the TriCare guy, the one who cut the orders for John and Caelen so that the military will reimburse us for the ( Read more... )

This is wonderful news! At his age, this is sure to be overcome. I can also imagine the frustration you had when he did everything for the assistant after what took you so long to achieve. It reminds me of bringing the car to the mechanic when you hear or feel something wrong and the mechanic doesn't.

It was a hair frustrating for him to do what he did for the assistant and not for me, but honestly, I was just so surprised and happy that he did it! :)
We are now just awaiting a call to set up an initial appointment with the therapist. I can't wait; I'm so excited and hopeful. :)

My niece had/has a speech therapist. Her vocal cords were paralysed for awhile when she was a baby and she has a genetic disease that made her progress with speech slow. Now she talks up a storm...sometimes it's a little hard to understand her, but at 9yrs old she's doing amazing.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that everything continues to go well.
