I feel kind of terrible in general at coming up with story ideas. I mean, besides, you know, "HEY WHAT IF THESE TWO CHARACTERS SNUGGLED". :D I suspect that's one reason I have historically written more often for exchanges than just for myself--other people come up with prompts, or at least approaches, and then that helps give me a framework upon which to make a story-snowman.
And Hannibal feels so particularly challenging to me--it's so arcy, so all of a piece, not like a procedural where you can plug in a new case in various spots. I don't have a post-finale idea, though I am thrilled for those who do (and am cheering them on! *\o/*). I wonder about maybe trying something small for a missing scene, but haven't come up with anything solid yet.
But I will certainly keep trying. There must be something.

Definitely excited about the prospect of all the post-finale fic to come...it's a great gift to have an ambiguous ending (not that an unambiguous one has ever stopped a single fic writer in the history of fandom).
One author writing interesting casefic from an interstitial/alt cannon perspective is Emungere. If you haven't read her work, I definitely recommend it!
