At least this might make more Almost Human fic happen? (I was pretty surprised the Aubreyad was small enough to get in, but hey, I'll take it!)
I don't know if I have five things I can write, but I'm going to fill it out with a couple fandoms I can draw for. I feel like there's something I should definitely nominate that I'm forgetting, though.
Yeah, fingers crossed for Almost Human! I could wish that the nominator had not included all of those relationships involving Richard Paul, however, if only because I'm not interested in writing or receiving them (I know, selfish, selfish :D ).
I was surprised at the Aubreyad as well--and even more surprised that the category for the movie isn't larger! I have the vague idea that there must be some early fic archive that has never yet been imported en masse into AO3. Or maybe it's more that authors tended to post on LJ comm(s) and decisions to import were left up to individuals, who might never have gotten around to it?
In the end, I added a few nominations that I remembered had been nominated last year, but that no one had gotten around to this year--Spy Game (2001), The Sting, R. Daneel Olivaw/Elijah Baley (Asimov's robot novels), and Sinbad (TV). Just in case the people who nominated them last year would still be interested this year.
Thanks! I hope so too. I haven't signed up yet--I need to take time for deciding and then writing the requests, and a letter as well. Luckily, the signup period is I think two weeks long.
I'm not actually sure how well my sensibilities mesh with the general nightonficmountain crowd. But then, I can't really judge from just the first day or two of signups. Hopefully other people like me will be stumbling in sometime.
Unfortunately, given the rules, I'm really not sure what to do about Almost Human. The rules are that you *must* offer at least two tags from a fandom's nominated set. And the person who nominated AH only nominated these tags:
Relationship: Dorian/John Kennex Relationship: Dorian/John Kennex/Richard Paul Relationship: Dorian/Richard Paul Relationship: John Kennex/Richard Paul Relationship: Richard Paul/MX-43 Which means that if my first offered tag is the Dorian/John relationship, my second offered tag will have to be one of the remaining ones, which are all relationships featuring Richard Paul. Whiiiiich, eh
