Oh, squee--can't wait to have time to read this. I love The Sting--elegant suits, long drawn out cons and Scott Joplin music.

Mmmmm, the clothes, and the music! The friends I watched the movie with and I were humming the various tunes for the rest of the week. And one of them had learned some Joplin on the piano back in the day, so she played a bit for us. So lovely and just the right tone.

LOL--I can't tell you how many times I watched Johnny and Henry back in the '70s (but I definitely need a rewatch.) And I have a sepia toned print of Henry playing cards on my wall. My sister used to play Joplin when we were teens--she used it to get out all her teenaged rage and frustration. She would rock the foundation of our house with her pounding out of Maple Leaf Rag and The Entertainer.
