two things i learned while in berkeley for the day:
-my theory that the girls who work in the little vintage clothing shops will give you better service if you are oddly and carefully dressed -- and above all wearing dramatic shoes -- proved to be entirely true. i was treated like a queen (and looked, if i do say so myself, rather fabulous-sitting
