so, why is it that all my friends, and i really do mean ALL my friends, are very, very attractive? i'm speaking here not only of my own impeccable taste in humans. it goes without saying that i surround myself with the cream of the crop, dahling. no, what i'm wondering is, why are all the people i get along with best in the world also so darned

This didn't fit in the text box, but I wanted to mention that in most cases, my friends wouldn't be picked to be models by YM Magazine. They are too attractive for that.

I think it also has to do with familiarity breeding attraction. I am way more attracted to people I've known for a while and know well than I am to people I just met. My friends keep getting prettier as years go by.

agreed. i'm equally attracted to personalities as to bodies. in fact they're inseparable for me, and sometimes i wonder which one i'm seeing when i look at someone.

So, I wonder whether we find out friends physically attractive because our positive emotional response to them superimposes itself on our physical view of them. . .

I've noticed that I often find people I don't like highly unattractive, despite how "hot" they are supposed to be. I am thinking of one particular example which I will refrain from naming.

yes. i can think of several such examples.

i have also noticed that not only do i find my friends attractive, but that we generally seem to have the same taste in other people -- mooning over the same celebrities or reedies-we-don't-really-know-but-stare-at-a-lot.

Yeah... I always find the we-like-the-same-people a little weird and amusing. Luckily, my friends and I have always had enough difference in our tastes to not be going for the same people.
