I remember having the same thought as we got our first glimpse of all the damage when we walked out of the front door after the storm was finally over.
I still think about it a lot, and I'm still reminded of everything that happened whenever I go home... there still isn't any carpet in our living room after we ripped it out, there is still a sand pit in the back yard where the above-ground pool used to be, there is still an empty slab of concrete where the porch used to be... sometimes it seems like Andrew was just a few years ago, other times it seems like a lifetime ago.
Dang. I think if I ever went through something like that, I would move as far away from all of those types of natural disasters as soon as I could. Haha. I'm a baby though! :)

In our case it mostly involved running away to Crystalsomethingorother (Crystalwater?) then coming back to our neighbor's roof in our front yard.
