I haven't tried the 16-year old, tbh. Maybe I should. I am not a big fan of the 12-year old, which is ubiquitous around here.

My favorite used to be Scapa 12-year old, which ranks as a beginner's whisky as well. They stopped making it though, but I recently got the 16-year old and it's great.
