I’m going to talk to him. I’m going to talk to him. Victor told himself over and over again. He just needed to catch Billy alone, and maybe he’d have a chance of not making a total ass out of himself, and not getting his head pounded in by the Boyfriend of Doom.

Unfortunately, it seemed like Teddy was always with Billy, and always watching Victor whenever he was around.

Like now. The two Young Avengers were enjoying the afternoon sunshine, and Victor was unsuccessfully trying to finish his Trig homework out on the porch. The problem was Billy, who was very shirtless and thus very distracting.

He was halfway through the third problem when Teddy started kissing Billy, totally oblivious to the fact that anyone could see them.

At least, Victor thought he was oblivious until Teddy paused in kissing Billy senseless and met his eyes. The shape shifter smirked, licking his lips before returning his attention to Billy. Victor licked his own suddenly dry lips, his pencil falling from his nerveless fingers. He took a shaky breath and hunted for the dropped pencil without actually looking, since he couldn’t seem to take his eyes off Billy and Teddy. Billy was making a noise that went straight from Victor’s ears to his crotch, that made him want to go over there and worm his way between them.

And Teddy knew he was there, knew he was watching.

Victor gave up on his homework and bolted.

“He ran off again.”

“Maybe he’s not interested.”

“Have you seen the way he looks at you?”

“No. Cause he keeps running off.”

“It’s cute. He’s cute.”

“He’s never gonna go for it.”

“I don’t see why he wouldn’t.”

“Cause he keeps running.”

“Then I’ll just have to corner him where he can’t run.”

“Do you want to totally scare him off?”

“I’m not scary.”

“You can be.”

Victor was tired, sore, and more than ready to crawl into bed and die for a few hours. That was only to be expected, since he’d just finished one of the torture sessions Mr. Logan called Combat Class. Normally, he would have been a bit more aware of his surroundings, but just then he was too tired to care.

So the arm that suddenly blocked his progress came as a total surprise. He jumped back, startled, only to find his retreat blocked by another arm, effectively trapping him against the wall. Victor found himself looking at Teddy, who was giving him one of the most frighteningly intense looked he’d seen since the school cookout when Logan had been watching the grill.

“My boyfriend thinks you’re cute.”

Oh god I’m going to die. “I’m sorry really I promise I won’t ever go near hmph!”

Victor’s bout of verbal diarrhea was cut off by a very surprising set of lips covering his own, and a new tongue taking up a lot of space in his mouth. Wiggling away from the kiss wasn’t exactly an option, what with his back against the wall and the arms on either side of him. He could get his legs up between them and push Teddy away, but that just seemed like a fantastically bad idea, what with the kissing and all.

Unfortunately, the kiss was rather brief. Teddy’s lips trailed up to his ear as Victor tried to catch his breath, and he felt the shape-shifter’s words more than heard them. “I think you’re cute, too. If you’re interested, you know where to find us.”

Teddy was gone before Victor’s addled mind could process just what had happened.

“He didn’t just…” Victor whispered. “He couldn’t have.” He rubbed his lips with the back of his hand and stared at the wall.

Victor knocked on the door to Billy’s room. He knocked very softly, but he knocked. He was just about to bolt when the door opened. Billy looked just as surprised as he felt. “Vic! I didn’t think you’d-” He blushed, and Victor heard Teddy laughing inside the room.

“Told you.”

Billy held the door a little wider. “Wanna come in?”

“Sure.”
