Title: That Damn MPreg Part 15: Happy Birthday
Universe: That Damn MPreg
Rating: PG
Summary: You are invited to witness the birth…
“If you want to crash with us again,” Luna said, a hand on Teddy’s arm and an understanding smile on her face, “just say the word.”
“Thanks, Lou.” Teddy planted a brotherly kiss on her cheek, then sat down in the chair he’d set up between Billy and the egg.
“How’s he doing?” the half-Inhuman asked, nodding towards Billy.
“Kinda hard to tell,” Teddy said. “His stomach looked bigger. Dr. Strange said that the glow would change colors.”
“Are you supposed to wake him up with a kiss?” Luna asked.

Teddy slept in the chair in the medlab. He rarely left Billy’s side, and then only when he absolutely had to.
It was rare that he had to.
Someone (usually Tommy) brought him meals and books and video games. And he had company in his vigil as often as not (usually Tommy or Victor), so it wasn’t like he was alone all the time.
But he was alone when the egg started rocking.
It took Teddy a moment to notice. He rarely actually looked at it. The egg could take care of itself.
But the egg was rocking. Teddy turned his head just in time to see the first crack appear. He fell out of his chair. “Oh shit.” He scrambled to his feet, prying open the incubator, then fumbling for hi cell phone, dialing first Dr. Richards, then Dr. Strange.
“It’s hatching, it’s hatching, oh god it’s hatching.”
The egg was rocking violently, a fine web of cracks spreading across it’s surface. Teddy’s hands twitched with the urge to break open the shell, but Kl’rt had specifically warned him against this. He could hurt the baby.
Teddy was aware, vaguely, of the presence of other people in the room. The egg’s rocking and the opening of the incubator had set off the silent alarm, and now the room was full of Avengers. But that didn’t matter.
The egg had just split open, and there was no mistaking the wail of a cold, hungry baby.
Teddy reached in and pulled his child out from the remains of the shell. Someone thrust a warm towel into his hands, and he did his best to clean the yech off the baby. “My god,” he whispered.
A flashbulb went off, reminding Teddy that there were other people in the room. Tommy took a few more pictures as Dr. Richards held out his hands for the baby, reminding Teddy that they needed to check his child over. Dr. Strange stood behind and to the right, his gaze switching between Billy and Teddy.
Very reluctantly, Teddy offered the baby to Dr. Richards.
“She certainly looks healthy,” the older man noted.
“She?” Teddy blinked, then took a very good look at the baby he’d just handed to the doctor. “Oh my god. We didn’t even - I need to sit down.”
He got one last good look at Dr. Richards holding his daughter before he fainted.
