Nara Shikamaru is the smartest dumb guy Temari has ever met. He can plan things out hundreds of moves ahead, and yet be annoying oblivious to what’s right under his nose.
He frustrated and fascinated the daughter of the Fourth Kazekage.
He had so much potential, and he was perfectly happy to let it go to waste.
Somebody needed to take charge of him, stir him off his lazy backside. Someone, of course, being Temari. The idea of some other person prodding Shikamaru into action was perhaps more frustrating than Shikamaru himself.
