I can see it in the way they look at me, in the way the conversation always goes quiet whenever I enter the room.
Like it’s my fault Nura’s dead, or that I was chosen to take her place on the team.
I think perhaps Brainiac 5’s utter disdain is the worst. He barely acknowledges my existence. Open hostility would be more tolerable. At least then the other person considers me worth the time to hate.
