“You are the only kid I know who would rather spend his birthday junking old armors rather than partying,” Dexter said.

Nate inspected the cyborg’s corpse with a detached air.

“Why?” Nate asked Magneto one day.

Nate liked to watch the day break with Hal.

“Find me a place to drop it,” he said weakly to Hal as he fought to keep the ship in the air with his powers.

“You two are so weird,” Becca sighed.

“Jeff’s somewhere out there now,” Nate said, waving a hand vaguely at the stars.
