Martin Hacker reviewed the tapes, not looking at Matt as the old man wandered around in circled, deteriorating visibly with every minute and every failure to escape. “Eventually, someone took pity on him and brought him out,” he said casually. “He’s resting comfortably now.”
“That’s nice,” Matt said flatly. “Is there a reason for this?”
Martin smiled. “There’s always a reason, Matt. But it’s up to you to find it.”
Matt didn’t smile back.
