Tommy stopped, looking cautiously over his shoulder, blue eyes sweeping his surroundings. He’d heard something. He knew he was being followed. He just didn’t know who - or what - was doing the following.
He knew one thing, though. Whoever it was, they were in for a world of pain.
“TOMMY!”
One of the great things about being a speedster was the excellent reaction time. He went from ‘ready to maim’ to ‘ready to be pounced by a munchkin’ in nothing flat.
Molly wrapped her arms around his waist in a bone creaking hug, squealing with joy. Tommy let it happen, snatching Molly’s hat off her head and ruffling her hair. “Hey, Short Stack.”
Molly looked up at him and grinned, hanging on like a barnacle as she informed him that she had captured him, and now he had to do whatever she said. She emphasized this with a squeeze that almost knocked the breath out of Tommy.
“Gaah! Easy, Molly, or you’re gonna break something!”
