Summary: Years go by. Things change.
Author's Notes: Inspired by my re-reading of Volume 1, where Tamaki sends Mori for ‘his contacts’ to be used by Haruhi.
He rested his pinkie under the glass before setting it down, and Haruhi’s lips twitched into an almost-smile. “Where’s Hunny?” she asked, looking around for the irrepressible martial arts master.
“We passed a cake shop on the way,” Mori said, pushing his glasses up his nose. “He sent me on ahead.”
“Lost your contacts?” Haruhi asked. “I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen you wearing your glasses.”
“Getting over a cold,” Mori explained with a shrug. “You seem to have accomplished your goal.”
It was Haruhi’s turn to shrug. “I’ve done alright. Kyoya keeps me busy.”
Mori nodded slightly. The two fell into an easy silence, watching the rich and powerful dance around each other like so many exotic butterflies.
Some things never changed.
