Billy didn’t relax until he checked the snake tattoo that covered Victor’s ankle. “He knows about the one on your back now.”
“Don’t you think you might be taking this a bit far?” Victor suggested softly, planting the barest hint of a kiss on Billy’s lips. “You’ve been avoiding him.”
“He snuck in here pretending to be you.” Billy said bitterly.
Victor sighed and said nothing, stroking Billy’s hair. It often surprised people how strongly the spellcaster could hold a grudge. And Victor would concede that Billy had fairly good reasons to hold a grudge against Teddy.
Sometimes it seemed like the shadow of Billy and Teddy’s relationship would always darken what Victor had with him.
“Love you.”
“Love you too.”
