Summary: There’s a cat sleeping on Strange’s cloak.
Stephen Strange had a cat sleeping on the Cloak of Levitation. The perplexing bit was he had no idea why there was a cat sleeping there. He didn’t own any cats. And this was not just any cat. This cat was, perhaps, one of the ugliest cats Stephen had ever encountered in his long life.
“Wong!”
Wong was at Stephen’s side in an instant, looking as inscrutable as ever. “Master, what-”
“I don’t suppose you know where this came from?” Stephen asked, pointing a long finger at the fur-bearing beast. It yawned, snapping its teeth at the end of Stephen’s finger.
“As a matter of fact…”
“Mordecai!”
The shriek of delight came from the throat of five-year-old Miranda, who had come fast on Wong’s heels, as she often did. Part of Stephen felt faintly guilty about leaving most of his daughter’s care to Wong, but both he and Linda had their duties, and Miranda seemed happy.
At the moment, Miranda was embracing the slightly smelly moggie Stephen had discovered with the joy of someone finding his or her long lost true love.
“It’s one of Mrs. Xanathos’ cats,” Wong explained. “It followed us home. I’m sure she’ll come for it soon.”
