Victor Borkowski knew he should be happy. Ties between the Skrull Empire and the House of Magnus couldn’t be stronger, and Prince William was actually happy.
Okay, he wasn’t Prince William anymore, but Victor was incapable of pronouncing the prince’s actual title, so he continued to refer to him as ‘Prince.’
But still, there were little things that gnawed on Victor’s mind.
Maybe it was because he was bored.
Officially, he was Prince William’s bodyguard. But he rarely got to act in that capacity. Kl’rt ran a tight ship with the Imperial Guard, rendering the mutant unnecessary.
Maybe it was because he was lonely. His Highness and the Skrull Emperor were utterly wrapped up in each other, and there was no one else from Earth that Victor could talk to. Very few Skrulls spoke any of the Earth languages, and Victor was having no luck at learning Skrullos.
Maybe, just maybe, he was jealous.
