Victor sighed, turning to face the gem-like mutant known as Bling a she strode down the hall like a rockslide. “It’s Victor. Not ‘green kid’. Victor. I mean, it’s not like I’m the only guy around here who’s green. How would you like it if I called you ‘rock-girl’?”
Bling blinked, then rested her hands on her hips. “Do you ever stop talking? Nevermind, not important. Who’re you taking to the dance?”
“No one, I-”
“Great. Meet me at my room around seven, and wear something nice.” Bling turned on her heel and walked away, ignoring Victor’s protests as he followed in her wake. Finally, he threw his hands up into the air and let out a frustrated groan.
“I hate girls.”
