“It is my understanding that you intend to have a wedding of a typical Jewish type,” Kl’rt said, having finally succeeded in cornering Billy.
“That’s the plan, yes,” Billy said warily, trying to put Jeff down for his afternoon nap. Becca and Bobby were already drowsing away, and Billy was eager to get Kl’rt out of the nursery.
“I have been researching your people’s wedding customs,” the Super-Skrull went on, “and I notice that it is typical for the parents of both parties to be a part of the actual ceremony.”
“Too bad you killed Teddy’s mom,” Billy said darkly.
“I had no involvement in Her Highness’ death,” Kl’rt replied stiffly, his hands clenching.
“You know I wasn’t talking about her.” Billy finally succeeded in getting Jeff to settle and turned to the Skrull warrior. “You are not going to be a part of my wedding, Kl’rt. You should count yourself lucky to even be invited. You’re only allowed to be there because Teddy asked. And if you don’t knock it off, there won’t even be that. Got it?”
“I believe I do, yes.”
