“Okay, I’m still not used to sleeping at all.” Jono stood in front of Jubilee, hands on his hips. “What’s your excuse? Too many Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs?”
Jubilee grunted, barely looking up from the battle strategies she was working on.
“Now, you see, you’ve got things all mixed up. I’m supposed to be the surly bastard, and you’re supposed to try and cheer me up. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I’ve just got a lot to do.”
Jono rubbed his jaw, inspecting Jubilee as he did so. “If you start dragging ass during practice tomorrow, the others will never let you live it down,” he pointed out. “I can’t just let that happen. We’re mates, yeah? So as your mate, I’m telling you to go to bed.”
